Snow Melt Kit from FarmTek® Melts Snow Fast

Hydronic ice melt kit eliminates need to shovel or salt

Dyersville, IA—January 2010—Operating a hydronic heating system under concrete slabs is easy, affordable and efficient with a Snow Melt Kit from FarmTek. Save time and money by eliminating the need to shovel and salt sidewalks, driveways, exterior truck docking bays, parking lots or any concrete area. Snow Melt Kits will safely and efficiently remove slippery snow and ice, saving hours of labor and liability of slips and falls.

Our Kit includes an Outdoor Temperature Sensor and Moisture Sensor that monitor temperature and presence of moisture every 25 minutes, and a Snow Melt Control Unit, which will activate hot water flow to the area in the event of snow or ice. Operation settings include warm weather shut down, cold weather cut out, moisture sensitivity, and minimum heating run time. The "idle mode" function keeps concrete slab at an elevated temperature for faster melt response in the event of ice or snow conditions.

Install insulation under the concrete slab to allow the system to operate quickly and lower costs. TekFoil®Insulation from FarmTek reduces radiant heat transfer across open spaces. Available in 25' rolls, TekFoil is easy to work with and install.
